October is another extremely big month for new openings, and the restaurants on the way also emphasise the breadth that London has to offer. There's a New Haven pizzeria, an Indian pub, a Filipino pizzeria, a very British addition to Smithfield and so much more besides...
Lenny's
Covent Garden - 24 Henrietta St, London WC2E 8ND
The original Lenny's (which actually comes from Max Lewis) was a residency inside a Finsbury Park pub. Lewis had a mission to bring proper New Haven-style pizzas to London (aka "apizza") and the residency quickly became hugely popular. Now he's going permanent with a Covent Garden pizzeria which will again be all about New Haven pizzas. Expect pizzas like his signature tomato pie and The Lenny, which has one half topped with tomato, garlic and pecorino, the other as a classic mozzarella pie.
Opening: 27 October 2026
Clementine
Islington - 190 New North Road, London N1 7BJ
Anna Higham, previously at Flor and The River Cafe, opened Quince in Islington a couple of years back and it quickly became regarded as one of the capital's best bakeries. The compact Quince is staying where it is, but Higham is now expanding across the road to a bigger space to create a new all-day cafe, Clementine (teaming up with an ex-Forno chef). Open from morning to late afternoon, it'll kick off with breakfasts that include proper sausage sandwiches, with pies and soups hitting the menu later. Expect this to be absolutely packed on the weekends.
Opening: 10 October 2026
PAM
Clerkenwell - 61 Charterhouse Street, London EC1M 6HA
Ex-Kiln head chef Kara Knowles has a busy few months ahead, launching not one but two new restaurants. First up will be PAM, a Thai-inspired restaurant in Farringdon. Little official has been released about the restaurant so far (which means this could slip to November), but what we do know is that they say it will be "where bold flavours, British seasonal produce, art and music come together to create a unique all-day destination." She's been previewing the restaurant with summer supperclubs and the buzz from those indicated that this will be one to watch.
Opening: October 2026
B. Penhale
Clerkenwell - 57 W Smithfield, London EC1A 9DS
Also known as "Penhale's", this new Smithfield restaurant comes from the people behind Camille in Borough Market. But while that restaurant was very French, this will have a British focus, specifically on dishes from the Victorian era. Chef Elliot Hashtroudi has ties to the market and they've taken over the space that was a Smithfield institution, Club Gascon. There may well be a distinct St John vibe to the menu as they're also promising that it will feature offal and lesser-known cuts.
Opening: October 2026
Talli Queen
Shepherd's Bush - 412 Uxbridge Rd, London W12 0NR
Chef Avi Shashidhara was most recently seen at Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai in Fitzrovia, where he picked up a great reputation for the menu. Now he's going it alone, taking over what was the Queen Adelaide in Shepherd's Bush and relaunching it as a pub with a strong focus on Indian food, taking inspiration from across the country. So there will be a strong menu, but it will also remain a proper pub, with 18 beers on tap.
Opening: 13 October 2026
Da Pino
Stoke Newington - 175 Stoke Newington Rd, London N16 8BP
This restaurant replaces what was Bianca's, but retains the chef Giuseppe Pepe and manager Federico, who are going to be taking things in a brand new direction. The menu will now have a focus on Southern Italy, particularly Puglia, where they both hail from. One of their signature dishes will be the riso, patate e cozze, a traditional Puglian dish, but the chef also says, "My style of cooking takes quite an Asian approach to flavour, so the dishes will pack a punch!"
Opening: 7 October 2026
Bunso
Kentish Town - 1A Hawley Rd, London NW1 8RP
Bunso is the latest opening from Omar Shah, who has had a lot of success with his other Kentish Town restaurant, Belly. Like that, Bunso will have a Filipino influence, but overall, it's a very different style. By day, it will be a bakery and cafe, while in the evening, it will shift to a pizzeria, with freshly made (Filipino-inspired) pizzas alongside a concise menu of crudo, kinilaw, salads and pasta.
Opening: 13 October 2026
Solis
Soho - 26 Kingly Street, Carnaby, London W1B 5QD
Solis comes from the duo that also makes up TATA Eatery, and you may well have encountered it at one of the Arcade food halls. For this opening, they're going fully standalone in Soho. The key dishes of chicken with smoked Aji-Aji chili oil and a flat iron steak with Solis steak sauce will remain the heart of the menu, but a lot more it being added to this version of Solis. So there will be more cuts of steak, a South American baked torta pascoalina, croquetas, bocadillos and lots more.
Opening: 20 October 2026
Endo
Chelsea - 8-9 Blacklands Terrace, London SW3 2SP
Endo Kazutoshi remains one of the UK's best sushi chefs and one who, bizarrely is still to win a second Michelin star. We can see that changing with this new opening, which sees the chef bringing a 10-seater omakase to Chelsea. Only a precious few are clearly going to get a chance to sit at the counter, but the chef is also opening the Moga bar upstairs, which we mere mortals will eventually have a chance of getting into. It's only open for omakase diners to start with, but later in the year it should be possible to pop up there for cocktails.
Opening: 1 October 2026
Cloth Cornhill
City of London - 38 1/2 Cornhill, London EC3V 9DR
The original Cloth was a big hit, having opened in a classic part of Smithfield. Now they're doing it again, taking over what was the Grade II-listed Simpson's Tavern, to create Cloth Cornhill. Part of the old tavern will remain a (standing-only) pub, but the rest of the restaurant will be familiar if you've ever been to the Smithfield original, although there is a brand new menu in place here. The bar snacks look solid too - we have our eyes on the devils on horseback with black pudding & brown sauce.
Opening: 1 October 2026
Five Feet Pizza
Bermondsey - 4 Tanner St, London SE1 3LE
London's love affair with pizza continues with this latest pizzeria opening in Bermondsey. It's a team-up between the people behind Legare and Watchhouse, and run by ex-Dusty Knuckle/Spring chef Jack Ellingham. His pizzas will have a deeper crust than normal (although he's resisting calling it "deep pan"), with toppings all local and British. So you'll find pizzas like the Hot Sausage Pie, featuring vodka sauce, fennel sausage, pecorino, ricotta, house-pickled chillies and Calabrian chilli honey. Taking over an old bakery site, this feels like it could add something new to a growing scene.
Opening: October 2026 (delayed from last month)
