If you've been wandering around Marylebone recently and wondered what is going to be opening up at the massive Loxton Walk development on Baker Street (Matchado, Le Choux and Melrose & Morgan have already announced they'll be there), then we have big news. The Pachamama Group have earmarked two spaces for new restaurants and we've got the scoop on the first one.
Soraya is actually one of the group's restaurants that they developed outside of London. While they were busy pivoting to the likes of Zephyr, Lagana and Nina here they were also opening Soraya over in Abu Dhabi. And now they're bringing it back to London. The Persian offering will be the group's largest restaurant in London to date with room for almost 200 diners. But if that sounds too massive and impersonal, we're told the space is being transformed into a series of interconnected spaces, including an open kitchen, bar and two private dining rooms.
For breakfast they're serving up Persian omelettes, fresh pide and yoghurts. There are more flatbreads for the main food offering and the menu will feature dishes like smoked aubergine kashk bedemjan, short rib khoresh with sour grape, along with tahdig, kebabs and more. As anyone who's been to and loved their other restaurants, there will be cheesecakes for dessert, so many that they're promising a rotating series of cheesecakes.
Given what massive hits they've had with their other restaurants, this seems like an easy prediction to be one of the summer's hottest openings.
