Mayfair's new boutique hotel The Shepherd Mayfair reveals its food and drink spaces

Mayfair gets a new boutique hotel with The Shepherd Mayfair

16/7/26 - Updated with more about the food and drink and an opening date.

Recently, there have been a lot of fancy new Mayfair hotels opening, from the Chancery Rosewood on Grosvenor Square to the upcoming St Regis Hotel, taking over what used to be The Westbury. Also planned for a while, but finally due to open is The Shepherd Mayfair, which is more of a boutique affair.

The hotel has taken over what used to be the Park Lane Mews Hotel, just off Park Lane and not too far from Shepherd Market (they say it's actually within Shepherd Market, but we'd say that's somewhat stretching its boundaries).

A new hotel, of course, means new food and drink, and their main all-day restaurant is called Fayre, with a menu serving European classics using seasonal British produce. Translated to a menu, that means snacks and starters that include lobster & prawn brioche roll, braised beef short rib croquette and crispy duck confit salad. For mains, they'll have Gloucester Old Spot pork chop, a beef Wellington pithivier and dry-aged steaks.

Desserts go a little different with their "Puddings in a glass" where each week will have a new classic pudding in, you guessed it, a glass, starting with a strawberry and Champagne trifle. The Paris-Brest with pistachio mousseline cream and chocolate chips also sounds good.

There's also The Lounge, which is more of a cafe-style affair (with a terrace) and their lower-ground speakeasy-style cocktail bar Teddy's.

The hotel itself will have 82 rooms and is part of the Elegant Hotel Collection, which is also behind Durrants and Eccleston Square hotels in London, and Lainston House further afield.
