This week, Crisp Pizza and The Devonshire team up for a Mayfair pub, Khao Bird Thai restaurant goes permanent in Soho, the team behind Petersham Nursery opts for Florentine in Notting Hill and more...
The Marlborough
Mayfair - 24 N Audley St, London W1K 6WD
Around this time two years ago, we had the launch of the behemoth that was The Devonshire. Now the team behind that have joined forces with Crisp Pizza's Carl McCluskey to launch a new pub in Mayfair. The Marlborough will be a proper pub on the ground floor, but downstairs you'll find the new Crisp Pizza restaurant. So, you'll have a combination of what might be London's best pizza and London's best Guinness all under one roof.
Opening date: 10 November 2025
Khao Bird
Soho - 24 Brewer Street, London W1F 0SS
Originally launched in Brighton, Khao Bird came to London for a very successful residency in Borough Market's Globe Tavern. Now restaurateur Mike Palmer and Head Chef Luke Larsson are moving into their own digs in Soho. Once again, the Thai food here will have a big focus on live-fire cooking and BBQ, with new dishes coming onto the menu, like beef larb with Campari and extra snacks for the downstairs bar.
Opening date: 12 November 2025
Trogolo
Notting Hill - 296 Westbourne Grove, London W11 2PS
The family behind Petersham Nursery might have closed down their Covent Garden operation, but now the next generation are opening something brand new in Notting Hill. This will be a Florence-inspired trattoria and bar where communal dining is encouraged and dishes include sage leaves fritto and tagliolini with white truffle. As one of the owners is a winemaker, expect the Tuscan-focused list here to be particularly strong.
Opening date: 11 November 2025
Khao-Sō-i
Fitzrovia - 9-10 Market Place, London W1W 8AQ
This is the second extremely promising Thai restaurant to open in a week. Khao-Sō-i (which hails from Chang Mai and Bangkok) previously had a popular London residency but now they're back with a permanent place in Fitzrovia. The big draw here is their signature dish, the coconut curry soup Khao Soi, but the whole menu will be well worth exploring.
Opening date: 11 November 2025
Firestarter
City of London - 94 Middlesex Street, London E1 7EZ
Electric Star pubs (the people behind The Star of Kings and many more pubs) are trying something different for their latest place. While it's opening right next to one of their pubs (The Star by Liverpool Street) this is billed as a completely standalone live-fire restaurant. Dishes planned include espresso-tamarind pork ribs, a crab doughnut with "cowboy butter" alongside big steaks like a 1kg Galician beef rib. Plus, their wagyu bone marrow crème brûlée sounds like a must-try.
Opening date: 13 November 2025
Humble Grape
City of London - St Mary Le Bow, Cheapside, London EC2
The latest Humble Grape is opening in the 11th-century crypt of St Mary-le-Bow in Cheapside, so if you're looking for a wine bar with a distinct look, this should be one to try. The menu will be similar to other Humble Grapes, so plenty of European-style sharing plates, while there will be 500 bottles of wine to choose from. They'll also be serving breakfast here (although it will be a little lighter on the wine then, of course).
Opening date: 10 November 2025
