Maza sees the team behind Notting Hill's Mazi heading to Mayfair

We reported on this one way back in June 2025, but now it's being confirmed, Mazi is coming to Mayfair - although this outpost will be called Maza.

It's been over a decade since Mazi opened its doors in Notting Hill. The refined Greek food restaurant by Adrien Carre and Christina Mouratoglou has since spawned sibling establishment Suzi Tros, also in Notting Hill, and this central London opening will launch in the old Pizza Express building opposite The Guinea on Bruton Place. The space, you may remember, was briefly taken over by the Guinea during Covid and used as the Guinea Express. Now it's been expanded across several buildings as part of an overhaul of this side of the street.

It's going to be a pretty large restaurant with a mix of counter and table dining and there seems to be a separate bar planned too.

As for the food, they say that's being inspired by "classic Athenian cuisine"

  • Honey-roasted tomatoes with goat cheese and thyme oil.
  • Crispy pork belly gyros, served tableside with pittas and tzatziki
  • Grilled lobster with lobster head bisque rice.
  • "Grandmama’s disco fries" topped with shredded veal kokkinisto
  • Pistachio baklava ice-cream sandwich

They'll also have fish of the day, prepared in a number of ways including raw, grilled, stealed or as a rich bourdeto with tomato, fish stock and vegetables.

As for drinks, there will be an exclusively Greek wine list and the meals here will kick off with a traditional shot of tsipouro, served with mezze.
