  • US chain Jersey Mike's is getting ready to flood the UK market with its subs

Another US chain is on its way over to the UK as Jersey Mike's, a sub shop which has over 3000 stores in America, is coming to London.

Jersey Mike's has been running since 1956 and it's all about sandwiches, made in sub rolls and served to-order, with bread baked throughout the day. Their particular USP is that all the meats are sliced as you order. You'll find subs like Mike's Hot Italian (ham, salami, pepperoni, melted provolone cheese) or the Club Supreme (roast beef, turkey, Swiss, Applewood smoked bacon). There are about 30 options on the American menu, so you can

  • Barang no longer planning to go permanent, but you can still try the Cambodian-inspired food in King's Cross

24/8/26 - Updated with news that the permanent restaurant isn't happening.

After hearing news from multiple sources that Barang was getting ready to open a permanent restaurant, it seems that that's no longer happening. The restaurant was supposedly going to be taking on the space that once held Darjeeling Express in Kingly Court, but we're now told that there are currently no plans to open a permanent Barang site.

The modern Cambodian-inspired restaurant comes from Tom Geoffrey (previously a chef at Kiln) and has had successful pop-ups over the

  • Professor Green's fast food restaurant Proper Good is coming to London

Professor Green has always been a bit of a foodie (we've seen his comments pop up on our reels for years) and cemented that by opening PG Proper Good in Glasgow earlier this year. Now he's following that with a second opening in London, right in the middle of Soho.

He's taking over a space on Soho Street (one that hasn't been a restaurant before) for the second Proper Good, something that he brought to life with the same team that launched Sides by The Sidemen. Assuming you haven't tried it in Glasgow, it's a fast food restaurant where you build your own meal. Those meals

  • Beefbar has a new London home, taking over Dear Jackie at Broadwick Soho

Change is coming to Broadwick Soho as Monte Carlo's Beefbar has chosen the hotel as its new London home.

Beefbar has been in London before, of course, having opened as Le Petit Beefbar in Chelsea. That closed in April this year, but they said at the time that they were looking for a new home, and they've found it in Soho.

The restaurant, which originated in Monaco (and has outposts across the world), will be taking over both the ground floor bar and the lower-ground restaurant. Previously known as Dear Jackie (and Bar Jackie), it was originally named after the

  • CZER's chicken Caesar wraps are so popular, they're expanding to Soho

They're now a fully viral sensation, but earlier in the summer it was Hot Dinners that first brought you the news about a chicken Caesar wrap place opening in London. That's been such a huge success that CZER have already laid down plans for expansion.

In a reveal on their socials this weekend, co-owner Mairi Livsey told fans that their overwhelming support had made her and business partner Marius confident enough to look for a second place. And they've already found a

And now we know exactly what he's planning. He's opening KID and, crucially, he's chosen a seriously impressive partner to get into bed with, David Carter. • Bar Douro is taking over the old 10 Greek Street site in Soho and serving up a very rare type of beef

As the saying goes, when one door closes, another opens. For this story, it's more a case of the same door, just a different restaurant behind it. The door in question is at 10 Greek Street, where just a few weeks ago we learned that the restaurant there was closing. Fast forward three weeks and we can now reveal that this space is going to be the third restaurant for Portuguese group Bar Douro.

The new opening is like a 10th birthday celebration for the group founded by

  • Dumbo's French smash burgers have found a home in Soho

A year ago, French burger joint Dumbo arrived in London (from France), opening in a small space in Shoreditch. It quickly became one of the new must-have burgers to try, sitting alongside other crazes like Supernova.

Now they're about to open a new Dumbo and this one will be both a lot more central and a little bigger too. They've taken over a site on Berwick Street that's already been known for its burgers, as it used to be the Soho branch of Tommi's Burger Joint.

Do not expect any changes to the menu, though. There will still be the very simple menu of a

  • Soho is getting a tiramisu cafe, Marrone, just down the road from The Dev

We know that Londoners have a sweet tooth. All you have to do is look at the popularity of La Maritxu and their Basque cheesecakes or the queues outside Arome for their honey butter toast. Well, now those of you who think that tiramisu is at the top of the dessert pyramid are getting their very own cafe.

Marrone in Soho comes from second-gen Italian Giancarlo Fanigliulo. He's figured out that enough of you are mad about Italian desserts to warrant opening a cafe devoted to tiramisu. For the launch, there will be three versions; Original using Estate Dairy cream and dark roasted

  • Popular Korean matcha house Tokkia arrives in Soho

    Updated 23/7/26

We were the first to tell you about the arrival of the Korean matcha house Tokkia in Covent Garden. And we were there on day one to check out their drinks and salt breads and stick with them on the ride to the position they have now with a perma-queue outside.

Founder Sooji Im really found a gap in London's often saturated drinks market with her elevated take on matcha and the popular seasonal blends she offered. Most recently the cafe

  • 10 Greek Street is closing after 14 years

The ongoing parade of London restaurant closures continues with another longstanding restaurant about to close its doors. This time it's the turn of 10 Greek Street, from Cameron Emirali and Luke Wilson.

The restaurant has been a mainstay of a street that's changed quite a lot since it first opened. The restaurant quickly became known for their ever-changing seasonal menu that rewarded repeat visits, as well as an excellent wine list that's also been great value (the house is still only £34 and they have a special £5 corkage on Fridays).
