22/5/26 - updated with confirmed details

Love them or loathe them, Wetherspoons pubs are among the most successful in the country. That said, there are surprisingly few in the centre of town, but that's about to change as they're getting ready to open an enormous 300+ seat pub on Shaftesbury Avenue called Piccadilly Hall

We write about this a few months ago, but now we have confiramtion - Wetherspoons is taking over the Coyote Ugly site, which itself only lasted a year and a half (although apparently a West End musical is being planned/threatened).

It's an enormous space (nearly 4000sq ft) andwill be one of the biggest Wetherspoons in central London. They'll be able to fit just shy of 300 people in there, and like other Wetherspoons, it plans to open very early at seven in the morning, closing at midnight.

The new Wetherspoons will, as usual, be one of the cheapest places to get a drink in the centre of town, but it is also about two-minutes walk away from The Devonshire. If we're being honest, we know where we'd rather get a pint of Guinness, but this new pub will still do very well here.
