As we enter the second half of the year, new openings include the latest from the team behind Lagana, a high-end Italian that's been promised for a while, East Asian/Texas BBQ, a top bakery follow-up and much more...
Soraya
Marylebone - 96 George Street, London W1U 8AF
This new Marylebone opening comes from the same team behind Zephyr, Lagana and Nina, all of which have been huge hits for the group. Those have all been more Mediterranean-focused, but Soraya has more of a Persian influence. It's also a restaurant that the group opened in Abu Dhabi first, before translating it to London. They'll be serving up an all-day menu starting with Persian omelettes in the morning and moving onto kebabs later in the day. It certainly seems at least Berenjak-adjacent and we can see them continuing their winning streak.
Opening: 15 July 2026
Hon's BBQ
Hackney - The White Building, Unit 7 Queen's Yard, London E9 5EN
Man Hon Luk (aka Uncle Hon) picked up his BBQ skills in Austin, Texas and showcased them in London with pop-ups and supperclubs. Now he's going permanent, taking over the space that used to be Silo in Hackney Wick. Hon's BBQ offers something of a unique take in that it mixes traditional Texas BBQ with East Asian influences. That translates into dishes like short ribs with Sichuan peppercorn sauce, Taiwanese pork belly, Iberico pork ribs with Texas rub and Asian-spiced ox cheek. He's also planning to have a late-night menu here, so it'll be perfect for late-night snacking.
Opening: 17 July 2026
Langosteria
Whitehall - 57 Whitehall, London SW1A 2BX
It's been promised for around three years but now the opening of Milan hotspot Langosteria is finally here. Taking over a big space at The OWO in Whitehall, this has a big fashion world following in Milan and we'll have to see if that happens in London too. It's a high-end Italian affair that they describe as being "a fine dining restaurant with Italian roots". Dishes promised for the menu here include their black grouper chateaubriand and the "risotto yellow submarine". They'll have a separate bar area here too and we suspect there will be a negroni on the cocktail list.
Opening: 1 July 2026
Bar Blondie
Queen's Park - 19-21 Lonsdale Rd, London NW6 6RD
Bar Blondie takes over what used to be the original Milk Beach in Queen's Park. Coming from the same owners, this new incarnation is a wine bar and restaurant with a menu that's influenced by French and Italian cuisine. Dishes on that menu include handmade Agnolotti del plin with lamb genovese and Monkfish tail cooked on the plancha. The wine list should be well worth perusing too, with over 160 wines picked from across the world. Interestingly, they're going big on the "over 21 only" aspect, so you won't see any strollers in here on the weekend.
Opening: 14 July 2026
Go Greek Yogurt
Mayfair - 36 South Molton St, London W1K 5RH
This yogurt shop is a very big deal in LA and around the world. So expect a lot of people to get surprisingly excited it. In here, you'll find everything from smoothies to fresh and frozen yogurt bowls with myriad toppings, as well as the odd celeb special. The recent opening in New York was hugely popular so we reckon this opening will have queues around the block too.
Opening: 11 July 2026
Toad Bakery
Deptford - St Paul’s House, Deptford High Street, London SE8 4BX
The original Toad Bakery in Camberwell is a much-loved South London bakery, and as Londoners are always really excited about a great new bakery opening, this one out to be a very big thing in Deptford. Taking over a former rectory, the Deptford branch will be bigger than the original but will have all the favourites from there, like the Everything Bagel croissants to saffron and vanilla teacakes being as well as weekly specials.
Opening: 2nd week in July 2026
Johnny Boy's
Stoke Newington - 3 Northwold Rd, London N16 7HL
Johnny Boy's comes from Julian Denis, the man behind Facing Heaven in Hackney. This will take a very different approach, however, as it's looking to LA for its influences (where Denis grew up). The menu is led by an all-day breakfast burrito, as well as crab tostadas, burgers and sandwiches like a pastrami dip and a grilled bavette steak plate. We also think their French toast should be pretty special.
Opening: 3 July 2026
