The Globe Tavern's next residency is Kismet, from the man behind Crispin and an ex Bibi chef

The Globe Tavern's most recent long-term residency was Khao Bird, which went onto big things in Soho. Now the next residency above the London Bridge pub will be hoping for similar success.

Kismet comes from the team of Dom Handy (Crispin, Bistro Freddie) and chef Keiran Mustafa (most recently Bibi). In a similar fashion to the recently opened Zylia, they're concentrating on Cypriot cuisine, but they're mixing it with Turkish elements instead of Greek (which is the chef's own background).

Things kick off with meze, including Bulgur Köftes (fried, stuffed bulgur wheat dumplings) and Atom (buffalo milk yoghurt with chilli butter), while charcoal-grilled kebabs are the main event. Those include Kuzu Şiş, which is lamb leg with tail fat and Şeftali Kebabı, Cypriot minced lamb and beef kebab wrapped in caul fat, which we've recently seen versions of at both Zylia and Impala.  On the side, there will be Patates Kizartmasi (fried Cyprus potatoes) with pistachio ice cream and Baklava for dessert.

The wine list will have a strong Turkish showing, while they'll also have their own beer, Bastekcase, on the list. As for the upstairs room at The Globe, that's getting an Istanbul-style makeover and they're also planning to have a traditional Turkish musician in once a week.
