The big new London restaurants opening in July 2025

With half of the year behind us, here are the restaurants to look forward to in July. From Adam Byatt at Fulham to The Duck and Rice celebrating their tenth birthday with a brand new restaurant, here's what's opening in London this month.

Duck & Rice

Battersea - 330 The Power Station, Circus Rd S, London SW11 8DD

Ten years after it was first opened (originally by Alan Yau), Soho pub/Chinese restaurant The Duck and Rice have decided to make it a proper celebration and open a second restaurant for their tenth anniversary. The Battersea version, inside the Turbine Hall at Battersea Power Station, is being billed as a "British pub and chop suey kitchen" and it's also much bigger than the original. Popular dishes will be making appearances like the pork & prawn shumai or the curry soft shell crab and there will be plenty of beer, wines and cocktails to go with that.

Opening: 7 July 2025

Brasserie Constance

Fulham - Level 1, Fulham Pier, Stevenage Road, Fulham, SW6 6HH

We've already had the opening of Fulham Pier, the big new food hall that's part of the stadium revamp at Fulham FC, and next up is stadium's main restaurant. This sees chef Adam Byatt, best known for Trinity in Clapham, opening a modern British brasserie which will also have a fantastic view of the Thames thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. Dishes include coronation chicken pate en croute (the restaurant is named after the creator of coronation chicken) and we rather like the sound of the omelette soufflé with girolles. There's also a separate bar here called Flo, with its own bar menu and a wine list chosen by Trinity sommeliers.

Opening: 15 July

Pintxito

Covent Garden - 34 The Market, Covent Garden Piazza, London WC2E 8RF

Spanish restaurant group Camino has been pretty busy of late, having taken over former Iberica sites all over town. Now, they're trying something new in Covent Garden, a Basque-inspired pintxo bar. Based on the kind of places you'll find in Bilbao or San Sebastian, there will be plenty of pintxos on the bar, like king oyster mushrooms with piquillo and salsa verde. It'll make for a very handy (and pretty quick) pitstop if you're in and around Covent Garden, with plenty of Spanish wine available too.

Opening: 21 July 2025

Luna

South Bank - Unit 6, 36 Shad Thames, Butlers Wharf Building, London SE1 2YE

Not related to the omakase bar in the City, this Luna is from the people behind nearby Italian restaurant Legare and is opening just a little further down river (close to Le Pont de la Tour). A small space, the wine list here will focus on classic producers and vineyards that use ethical farming practices, with a small food menu to go alongside it. There aren't many places like this anywhere on the South Bank and if Legare is anything to go by, this will be well worth the trip for a glass of rosé by the Thames.

Opening: Mid-July 2025

Ace Pizza

Victoria Park - 126-128 Lauriston Road, London E9 7LH

Ace Pizza started life, as many pizza operations have, as a residency most recently at The Pembury Tavern. It's run by Rachel Jones, who's now opening Ace's first permanent restaurant just off Victoria Park (it's where Fish House was). She'll be serving up her "London-style" pizzas, which she says have "the chew and char of Neapolitan dough with the structure and foldability of a New York slice". Pizzas on the menu include the Honey Pie (fior di latte, spicy salami, fennel seeds, guindilla chillies, and chilli honey) and they'll have pizza sandwiches too.

Opening: 28 July 2025

Little FiresLittle Fires

Shoreditch - 125 Bethnal Green Road, London E2 7DG

Little Fires is a complete relaunch of the space in Shoreditch that used to be Alfies. It's being reborn as a new bar that's decidedly Mexican in its approach. For the drinks, they've brought in the team behind one of the world's best bars, Sabina Sabe in Oaxaca, to help create the cocktail list. Meanwhile, chef Rodolfo Castellanos, winner of Top Chef Mexico and chef-owner of Origen Oaxaca. will be behind the menu featuring tostadas, elotes and ceviche. And just in case you're wondering - yes, this will be part listening bar, with a downstairs vinyl speakeasy in place.

Opening: 25 July 2025

MoiMoi

Soho - 86 Wardour St, London W1F 0TQ

This comes from a new restaurant group (which is also opening Spanish restaurant Alta in Carnaby next month). This restaurant feels very much in the Nobu mould, featuring Japanese sushi, sashimi and cooking over fire, mainly using British ingredients. It's led by chef Andy Cook, once part of Gordon Ramsay's overseas empire, and it sounds like it'll look very impressive (with pared-back design and lots of poured concrete). As for the menu, expect dishes like Orkney scallops with juniper kombu or grilled turbot fillet with yuzu kosho butter.

Opening: 29 July 2025

Shanghai MeShanghai Me

Mayfair - 28th Floor, 22 Park Lane, London W1K 1BE

It's been over a year since Galvin at Windows, set at the top of the London Hilton on Park Lane, closed for good. This month, however, we're getting the replacement - a Pan-Asian restaurant, based on 1930s Shanghai, that debuted in Dubai. So it's quite a change in direction, but at the same time is also on-trend as far as London's fancy hotel restaurant scene is concerned. Expect the food to be on the high-end side, so the Cantonese-style roast duck comes with foie gras and caviar. There's still a separate bar up here too, and both bar and restaurant will have stunning views across London and Hyde Park in particular.

Opening: July 2025

IslandIsland

King's Cross - Mare Street Market, Kings Cross, Lewis Cubitt Square, London N1C 4DY

He may not have had much luck opening Undercroft, but sometimes these things work out for the best, and Brummie chef Brad Carter's new attempt at breaking London sounds very interesting indeed. Here, he's teaming up with chef Tom Brown (who's only just opened his own place) for a restaurant that's a new spin on surf and turf. Each chef takes on what they're known best for with Carter taking a nose-to-tail approach on rare-breed meats and Brown in charge of seafood. That'll all come together in their mixed seafood and meat grill, while other dishes like the oyster ice cream sandwich sound well worth a try. It's all part of the big Mare Street Market outpost in King's Cross.

Opening: 1 July 2025 (soft launching in late June)
