They already have two popular pizzerias in Waterloo and Earl's Court and now Crust Bros are getting ready to open their biggest and most central pizzeria yet.
They've taken over a space that was once a Paul patisserie in Covent Garden, which has two floors, fitting in 135 people. The pizzas here are Neapolitan-inspired, with 48-72 hour-proved dough.
If you haven't been to one of their places before, one of their USPs is specialising in pizza personalisation. So you can choose your sauce, cheese, "protein" (including ham, anchovies, pepperoni) and veg to create your own perfect pizza. There's no pineapple option, mind. For the opening day, they'll also have a "pizza stylist" on hand to make sure you make the right choice for you.
If making a decision isn't your best trait, they'll also have ready-to-chose options which include:
- Straight Outta Hell - tomato, mozzarella, chicken, chillies, pepperoni, nduja
- Nonna’s Yard - tomato, mozzarella, caramelised onions, goat’s cheese, mushrooms, pesto drizzle
- Vegan Harlem Truffle - crema tartufata base, vegan mozzarella, mushrooms
The new location means that new sides are on offer here, leading with their savoury bombas (Italian-style doughnuts). New to Covent Garden is the Lasagna Bomba, made with ragu cooked for six hours, parmesan, bechamel, and deep-fried lasagna sheet. They also have the Nduja Bomba with ‘nduja mascarpone and dusted with ‘nduja sugar and the Blue Cheese Bomba with gorgonzola, bechamel and a parmesan twist. There are more sweet bombas for dessert.
Cocktails include their coffee negroni (which is made with Tia Maria) and they'll also be serving beer in frozen tankards. It's just around the corner from the piazza, so if you're looking for somewhere new in Covent Garden, this should be worth a look.
