Jump to: Central  |  North  |  South  |  East  |  West  |  Groups

It feels as though almost every Londoner either has a dog, or access to one. But if you're looking for somewhere more elevated than a pub to take them, that can be a bit of a quandary. We've scoured the city for London's best restaurants where dogs are more than welcome inside.

Central London

An Italian greyhound at The Italian Greyhound

Town

Covent Garden -  26-29 Drury Lane, London WC2B 5RL

Quite often, some of the best-designed, hottest places in town aren't the most dog-friendly, but that's not the case with Town. Your dog might not be as impressed with the futuristic design, but there's plenty of room for them at Stevie Parle's restaurant.

Italian Greyhound

Marylebone -  62 Seymour St, London W1H 5BN

It's right there in the name, so you'd hope that this restaurant was dog-friendly, and they most certainly are. Your dog will be given water, a dog bowl and complimentary treats, while you make your way through the Italian menu at this all-day spot.

The Nest at Treehouse London

Fitzrovia -  14-15 Langham Pl, London W1B 2QS

Treehouse London is a very dog-friendly hotel at all times, but every Sunday, they also open up their rooftop terrace to dog owners. From 12-3pm, they have a special dog-friendly menu available while you relax for brunch and cocktails. Plus, every month they have a session where they'll be doing live dog portraits.

Straits Kitchen

City of London -  Pan Pacific Hotel, 80 Houndsditch, London EC3A 7AB

Being part of the London Pan Pacific hotel group, Straits Kitchen goes over and above when it comes to looking after your dog. They've brought in Anna Webb, a dog behaviourist and nutritionist, to create special meals, which include an "all-day-breakfast" or a sushi-style lamb hot pot. They'll even take your dog to a pet grooming service if you need some alone time.

Apricity

Mayfair - 68 Duke Street, London W1K 6JU

Chantelle Nicholson’s Mayfair spot prides itself on managing to adhere to a sustainable, low-waste ethos while serving up a fabulous restaurant experience. The welcome here is extended to four-legged friends, just let them know in advance and they'll set aside a special table (chef's table not included).

Duck & Rice

Soho - 90 Berwick St, London W1F 0QB

This Soho pub and restaurant goes all out for the dog market, welcoming them in with a supply of treats along with dog-friendly beer. In their manifesto, “no pooch should be left at the door”.

Egerton House Hotel

Knightsbridge - 17-19 Egerton Terrace, London SW3 2BX

The Egerton is delighted to welcome dogs whether you’re a guest at the hotel or simply dropping in. Book the Doggy Afternoon Tea which includes a ‘dog-tini and doggy canapes’. The only restriction they impose is that dogs must be kept on a lead.

L'escargot

Soho - 48 Greek St, London W1D 4EF

Not only is Soho stalwart L’escargot supremely dog-friendly, welcoming dogs of all sizes into the restaurant, but they also have a resident bulldog named Doris who has a sideline as receptionist.

The Garden at Corinthia London

Whitehall - 10a Northumberland Ave, London SW1A 2BD

This alfresco restaurant in the courtyard at the Corinthia hotel in Whitehall is extremely welcoming to dogs - all four-legged guests are greeted with Mungo & Maud dog beds and organic treats. So they’re all looked after while you enjoy seasonal negronis and pizzette.

Sketch

Mayfair - 9 Conduit Street, London W1S 2XG

If you’re after a central London daytime spot to bring your dog to, then Sketch’s Parlour could work. They accept “small handbag-sized dogs under 10kg” between 9am and 5pm every day of the week. The one thing they ask is that you let them know that you will be bringing a dog with you when you book.

Also in Central London:

  • La Fromagerie (Bloomsbury) - The restaurant and bar at Lamb's Conduit Street welcomes dogs into both the restaurant and cafe

london's best dog-friendly restaurantsDoggy tipples (aka water) are available at Rotunda at King's Cross

Rotunda

King's Cross - 90 York Way, King's Cross, London N1 9AG

If you’ve been taking your dog for a walk along the canal in King’s Cross, dogs are welcome at Rotunda, where there’s a whole dog corner dedicated to dogs, with ‘dog beer’ (aka water), treats and toys. Alongside bowls of the dog beer, they offer complimentary dog biscuits at the bar too.

Trullo

Islington - 300 - 302 St Paul's Road, London N1 2LH

One of the best restaurants in Islington and a British take on Italian food, Trullo is a neighbourhood restaurant first and foremost, so they're happy to let dogs come in for dinner. Just be prepared to share some of your beef shin ragu.

The Nook

Islington - 220 St Paul's Rd, Highbury, London N1 2LL

This wine bar and deli (serving food which is "contemporary European with a Turkish twist") has no restrictions on dogs, but if you let them know in advance, they’ll get you a table with a little more space around it for your dog. And they will provide water bowls.

The Red Lion and Sun

Highgate - 25 North Rd, London N6 4BE

When booking a table inside at this superlative Highgate gastropub, let them know that you’re bringing a dog and they’ll be sure to seat you away from other dogs, so there’s no territorial warfare. We love the beer keg for dispensing water for dogs.

See also in North London:

The Bull & Last  - The gastropub in Highgate is known to have roast marrow bones behind the bar for its four-legged friends.

South London

Agora

Borough Market - 4 Bedale St, London SE1 9AL

While you can't take dogs into the more fancy restaurant Oma upstairs, the more casual Greek-inspired Agora downstairs is open to well-behaved dogs. They might have to be patient while you queue to get in, but when you sit down you can always reward them with a skewer.

Brunswick House

Vauxhall - 30 Wandsworth Rd, London SW8 2LG

Jackson Boxer's beautiful Vauxhall restaurant is pretty spacious too, so there's plenty of room for well-behaved dogs. There's also a great terrace space that's walled off from the main road, so a perfect place for your pooch to relax.

Levan

Peckham - 12-16 Blenheim Grove, London SE15 4QL

Seasonal Peckham restaurant Levan will let you have dogs anywhere in the main restaurant (except for the kitchen counter) and always appreciate a heads up if you’re bringing a dog. They offer water and doggy treats too.

Nice and close to the Common for walks before of after, this Peckham restaurant is delighted to welcome dogs (and their owner) for their Taiwanese steamed buns.

Wright Bros Battersea

Battersea - 26 Circus West Village Battersea Power Station, London SW11 8EZ

If you fancy some of London’s best seafood, and want to take your dog with you, then the Wright Bros Battersea Power Station branch will work. It’s dog-friendly and staff will ensure there is a water bowl and treats for dogs to enjoy whilst guests tuck into their shellfish.

East London

Xi-Home Dumplings BayDoggy dumplings at Xi-Home

Xi-Home Dumplings Bay

Shoreditch (and Covent Garden)

These two northern Chinese dumpling restaurants are dog-friendly at all times, but for a limited time (26 August until 9 September 2025), they're also introducing some special dog-friendly dumplings, which they've developed with Premium Dog Meal company Marleybones. The flavours are Boss Beef, Chic Chicken, Sassy Salmon or Lush Lamb and you can order them for your dog for free, alongside a normal dumpling order.

Roe

Canary Wharf - Five Park Drive, Wood Wharf, London E14 9GG

From the same people behind Fallow in St James, their Canary Wharf restaurant is a huge affair which makes it particularly suitable for dogs (just not up at the counter). There's also a siezable space out by the river here.

Inis

Hackney - 13 Rookwood Way, Fish Island, London E3 2XT

This restaurant in Hackney's Fish Island area is dog-friendly on its terrace and inside the main restaurant too. Keep an eye out and you might see their chef's dog Reggie in the restaurant too, whil;e the food here has a mix of British and Irish influences.

St John

Clerkenwell - 26 St John Street, London EC1M 4AY

The restaurant itself isn't dog-friendly, but the large bar space here is. So it's the perfect space to rest with your pooch while you grab a glass of St John rosé and maybe treat yourself to a doughnut or two.

Boundary

Shoreditch - 2-4 Boundary St, London E2 7DD

The ground-floor bar and brasserie of Boundary welcomes dogs at any time of the day and has even put on a special "Paws Menu" for them (we appreciate the pun). There's everything from dog biscuits to a special steak tartare (without the spice) for them, and even a dried fruit bowl as dessert.

Angelina

Dalston - 56 Dalston Lane, London E8 3AH

The Japanese/Italian mash-up in Dalston is very welcoming of dogs. They just ask diners to let them know in advance so they can make room for the pooch.

Bistrotheque

Bethnal Green - 23-27 Wadeson Street, London, E2 9DR

If you’re heading to this popular warehouse spot for dinner, then it’s good to know that they welcome dogs in both the bar and restaurant area. The rules are that small way behaved dogs are welcome as long as they can sit under the banquette benches.

Breddos

Clerkenwell - 82 Goswell Rd, London EC1V 7DB

If you fancy tacos while out with your dog, head to Breddos. They tell us they love dogs as long as they’re calm, and they’re kept to the area that the owners are dining while they feast on tacos. They’ll also provide water for dogs.

Brutto

Smithfield - 36-37 Greenhill Rents, Cowcross St, London EC1M 6BN

Dogs are very welcome at Brutto - the late Russell Norman was a dog owner himself. There are no restrictions, they’ll assume that owners are well capable of controlling their dogs and they will provide bones too. The Florentine T-Bone bistecca is cooked in a way that makes it perfect for dogs. All that and they’ve managed to source some silver dog bowls, so your dog will get proper silver service treatment here.

Dan's

Dalston - 2-4 Tottenham Road, London N1 4BZ

The Dalston wine bar goes as far as to say that they're not only very dog-friendly but it's actually "preferred". They say "dogs are offered water and a nice cool floor to lie on".

West London

The Park

Bayswater - 123 Bayswater Rd, London W2 3JH

If you've tired your dog out on a walk around Kensington Gardens, then Jeremy King's US-influenced The Park is perfectly placed for a lunch pit stop for you and your dog. They accept dogs for breakfast and lunch every day of the week, but if you want them to join you for dinner, that's only allowed on Sundays.

Julie's

Holland Park - 135 Portland Rd, Holland Park, London W11 4LW

The latest iteration of this legendary Holland Park restaurant has been a huge success and it's a beautiful looking restaurant to boot. Firmly dog friendly, you can take them inside or grab a table on the terrace. There's a very good chance of seeing a celeb with their dog here too.

Dove

Notting Hill - 31 Kensington Park Road, London W11 2EU

Much like his restaurant in Notting Hill, Jackson Boxer's Dove, a very successful reworking of what was Orasay, welcomes well-behaved dogs. There's much to enjoy in the neighbourhood restaurant, particularly one of their highly sought-after burgers. They only make ten of those a day, so it's definitely not for your pooch.

Sam's Riverside

Hammersmith - 52 Westbourne Grove, London W2 5SH

Sam Harrison's restaurant is in a perfect location for lunch or dinner after taking your dog on a walk down by the Thames. Let them know in advance and they'll make sure you're seated in the best space for your dog but they do ask you not to feed your dog in the restaurant.

Bluebird

Chelsea - 350 King's Rd, London SW3 5UU

Outside on the terrace, the staff at Bluebird on the King’s Road proffer dog blankets for any four-legged guests. They also allow dogs into the bar area upstairs, so dog owners can enjoy cocktails and a range of bar snacks. Look out for the occasional dog brunches and other special partnerships too.

The Harwood Arms

Fulham - Walham Grove, London SW6 1QP

London’s first (and only) Michelin-starred pub, The Harwood Arms, stays true to its pub roots by being very amenable to diners with dogs. So you can pop in for a top-drawer dinner, or one of their legendary Sunday roasts knowing you can bring your dog with you.

Ganymede

Belgravia - 139 Ebury St, London SW1W 9QU

Belgravia spot Ganymede is very dog-owner-friendly (we hear a certain West End composer is a regular with his pooch). They provide dog bowls and treats to all four-legged guests.

Los Mochis

Notting Hill - 2-4 Farmer St, London W8 7SN

Introducing Notting Hill folk to the joys of Baja-Nihon cuisine, Los Mochis is actually named after owner Markus’s dog. You’ll spot various artworks of said pet in and around the restaurant. Given all that, you can expect a very warm welcome for your own dog here.

Maggie Jones

Kensington - 6 Old Ct Pl, London W8 4PL

Perennial Kensington favourite, Maggie Jones is always delighted to welcome guests with dogs. Look out for the occasional dog-specific event too; on previous National Dog Days they’ve supplied dogs with their own homemade sausages.

Villa di Geggiano

Chiswick - 66-68 Chiswick High Rd, London W4 1SY

This popular Chiswick Italian may be fine dining, but they’re also totally fine when it comes to welcoming dogs. As they put it “When your four-legged friend is considered family, it's only right that they join you for your night out”. All dogs are welcome, as long as they’re well-behaved.
