Duck and Rice

Duck and Rice

| Soho, Fitzrovia, Covent Garden

This has been set up by Alan Yau, opening right next door to his old restaurant Yauatcha. He's reinvented the space as a Chinese gastropub - so there's a more pubby environment downstairs with a Chinese restaurant upstairs. Expect a big focus on the duck, of course.

"This old duck may have a few new tricks up its sleeve, but it’s not quite the game-changer that some of Yau’s previous projects were." READ REVIEW

"It’s not as if there are anything like enough really good Chinese restaurants left in Soho for us to start making ironic bad ones on purpose." READ REVIEW

"At Duck and Rice you pay for a beautiful room, nice staff and a sense that it’s worth getting dressed up for. Yes, you pay rather a lot, but if you can afford it, that expense is rewarded." READ REVIEW

"This isn’t a Hakkasan or Yauatcha, but Duck & Rice still does decent dishes in a fun setting, and the mixture of Chinese restaurant and posh pub is inspired." READ REVIEW
