If you're looking for the kind of classic restaurant that rich people love, then look no further than La Petite Maison. Every time we've had lunch at the London one we've had the strong feeling that we're the only people in the room who don't summer on the Riviera in their private yacht. That doesn't stop us loving the place though.
Now, everyone's favourite Côte d’Azur spot is about to embark on its biggest new venture in years. They're doing what we'd describe as a diffusion range but what they're calling a 'new expression' and opening the all-day Le Café LPM. That's going to be in Dubai, but London will actually be the first to see what it looks like. That's because it'll be popping up here first in a year-long residency at The Lanesborough.
"London holds a special place in our story as the city where La Petite Maison first began in 2007", explains LPM's CEO Nicolas Budzynski. In his opinion, that's why this city was "the ideal setting to unveil this new chapter of the brand."
The Knightsbridge hotel will host Le Café LPM at The Lanesborough for 12 months from September, giving Londoners the first chance to check out the new dishes. You'll be able to pop in for a burrata tartine with tomatoes at lunch and maybe some crispy fried squid with saffron aioli for dinner, along with a sirloin steak baguette with gaufrette potatoes. Some signature LPM dishes will make an appearance too, like their amazing dark chocolate mousse.
Sadly, they won't be serving tomatinis, but we can safely assume that there will be plenty of lovely French rosé on the wine list.
