He's already been a huge hit in the Harrods Dining Hall, now chef Masa Takayama is heading into the centre of town to open a second London restaurant, this time in the upcoming The Chancery Rosewood hotel in Mayfair. Tobi Masa will be joining fellow NYC restaurant Carbone in the Rosewood opening on Grosvenor Square. It'll feature an omakase counter, a main dining room and a separate bar.
There isn't too much detail yet on what the menu will feature, although we're told it'll be a Mayfair interpretation of the dishes that won him three Michelin stars in New York. On the London menu will be classic dishes like:
- Surimi Masa Pasta
- Peking Duck Tacos
- Masa Toro Tartare
But there will also be new dishes designed specifically for London. We've had that Masa Tartare at Harrods (pictured below) and it is very, very nice.
"I’m so proud to be partnering with a creative and innovative brand like Rosewood," said Chef Masa on the news. "We are very excited to embark on this new adventure together, and especially in such a historic landmark building in the middle of Mayfair."
