Since August, Battersea's Four Thieves pub has been undergoing a big renovation and now it's coming out the other end of that as a "new" pub, The Thieves.
In its previous incarnation, the pub had an arcade and was big on events and karaoke. Now it's really leaning into that, describing itself as "a playground for adults". The upstairs arcade, now called The Thieves Gambit, remains with classic arcade games and Mario Kart on offer. They'll also be putting on new events, including live music, interactive parties (Abba and Taylor Swift nights and brunches), cabaret performances, game show and quiz nights and DJ sets.
The space is also getting a big revamp, with more booth seating throughout and the pub has been stripped back to show off the old glazed walls and brickwork.
As for the food, that's also getting a total overhaul, with the folks from Soho favourite Balans taking that over. They'll have dishes like smoked salmon benedict, pad thai, and truffle fried chicken as well as burgers and, of course, a Sunday roast.
It's not going to be everyone's idea of a pub, for sure, but if you want a lot more from your night out at the local, this opening is one to watch.
