Selfridges celebrates cities for Christmas, with an NYC Downtown Cafe and E Pellicci collab for the Brass Rail

Over on Oxford Street, Selfridges is getting ready for the festive season. This year the theme is Christmas and the City, which means the store will spend the next month or so celebrating the best cities in the world.

To that end, they've given a Big Apple makeover to their Imagination Cafe on the lower ground floor. That's becoming the Downtown Cafe for the season, serving up New York diner dishes and cocktails. We've had a look at the menu, which now includes a lox bagel, classic cart hot dog and pastrami club sandwich. The theme extends to a new dessert offering too with a Coke float, NYC cheesecake slice and a dessert called The Big Apple featuring apple mousse and pecans.

If you want to really get in the Manhattan mood, they're doing new cocktails like a Sweet Manhattan, Whisky Penicillin and 0% Long Island Iced Tea.

Outside the store on Duke Street, there'll be a Ralph's Coffee pop-up running for the first few weeks too, serving up coffee and various US-styled sweet treats.

And on the London front, the store's bringing in iconic East End cafe E Pellicci to help them celebrate The Brass Rail's 60th birthday. On the menu will be the cafe's signature dishes, a new take on the Reuben and school cake and custard.
