  • Pearl will be The Beaumont's new restaurant taking over Mayfair's Brown Hart Gardens

Updated 17/7/26 with opening date and menu details

For over a year now, there have been rumblings that Mayfair hotel, The Beaumont, was gearing up to open a second restaurant. That would add to their existing offering, Rosi, by the hotel's Culinary Director Lisa Goodwin-Allen.

Now we can reveal that plans for Pearl are fully underway, with the restaurant taking over the elevated section of Brown Hart Gardens in front of the hotel. On the food front, it might not surprise you to learn that the menu here is going to be Mediterranean-led, like so many new openings in

  • Mayfair's new boutique hotel The Shepherd Mayfair reveals its food and drink spaces

16/7/26 - Updated with more about the food and drink and an opening date.

Recently, there have been a lot of fancy new Mayfair hotels opening, from the Chancery Rosewood on Grosvenor Square to the upcoming St Regis Hotel, taking over what used to be The Westbury. Also planned for a while, but finally due to open is The Shepherd Mayfair, which is more of a boutique affair.

The hotel has taken over what used to be the Park Lane Mews

  • Bar crawl - Brutes is like an indie take on Duke's, in Mayfair

    ALT

Mayfair is firmly getting its mojo back and the arrival of cool new cocktail bar Brutes is a great example of that.

  • Bar Finch arrives in Mayfair with a Dover-style menu and an A-list following

After years of it seeming that the only places that could afford to open in Mayfair were huge, soulless international group restaurants, we're very pro the arrival of a new vanguard. Kickstarted by Martin Kuczmarski at The Dover, then followed by the likes of Lilibet's and, most recently, Brutes, this new Mayfair movement is much more about a stylish kind of hospitality.

Into the fray more recently has come Bar Finch, which opened slightly on the QT two months ago in the heart of Mayfair's art quarter, Cork Street, but has only just started telling people about itself. The man

  • The two-Michelin-starred A Wong is heading to Mayfair for six weeks only

A Wong is getting a big brush-up for a few weeks over summer, and that means the team are going to have to close the restaurant in Pimlico. But it doesn't mean Andrew Wong's two-Michelin-starred restaurant is shutting up shop completely - instead, they're moving it to Mayfair's Mandarin Oriental.

A Wong is going to be taking over the private dining space next to the hotel's Atrium restaurant. That's a pretty sizable space (from our recollection), and they'll be serving the "Collection of China" menu there for six weeks. That features dishes like his Isle of Mull seared

  • Mardy's sees the man behind Lita opening a sandwich shop in Mayfair

6/7/26 - updated with menu details

The man behind the very successful Lita in Marylebone, Daniel Koukarskikh, has quietly unveiled his next London opening, but this one is a little different. Mardy's is a sandwich shop that's opened in Mayfair.

Un until now, that's more or less all we've known. According to job advertisements, they refer to themselves as "a proudly British brand, straightforward, unpretentious, and grumpy about quality." That's backed up with a cartoon campaign featuring their grumpy lead character.

    However, now that it's

  • NYC hotspot Coqodaq has arrived in London - we tried the nuggets

Having appeared in Gordon Ramsay's Knife's Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars show for Netflix, New York restaurant Coqodaq's next move was to come to London. And for the two weeks of Wimbledon, they're popping up at Gordon Ramsay's Lucky Cat in Mayfair.

If you haven't had the joy of visiting the NYC restaurant, then let us give you an idea of the place. We went to the New York restaurant a few years back on our last visit across the pond when it was newly open and

  • RH London The Gallery has arrived in London and it's looking beautiful

  • Test Driving Chez Rose, we wanted everything on the menu at this new French bistro

    inside1

What was once Jason Atherton's Little Social has been taken over by Spencer Metzger, the chef who launched Row on 5 with him. It's now a more laid-back classic French affair. We went down to Pollen Street to check out Chez Rose.

  • Le Perroquet sees top American chef Daniel Rose taking on the French restaurant at St Regis London

What was once The Westbury has been closed for what seems like forever, undergoing a big redevelopment (they've even added an extra floor). And all of this work is about turning it into the St Regis London, a UK version of the luxury hotel group. We've been waiting to see what they would reveal as their restaurant and it turns out to be an interesting choice with a big name behind it, but maybe not one all that familiar to Londoners.

The new restaurant will be Le

  • Salone sees the Lita team take over the old Burberry Thomas's Cafe space

If you’re always on the hunt for a new Italian restaurant to try, there’s one coming to London that has a pretty good pedigree. We were big fans of Lita when it opened in Marylebone in 2024, and now the same hospitality group (Fortune Family) is opening a restaurant called Salone.

Menu details are a little scarce at this stage, but according to a release from The Crown Estate, seafood and meat are both key elements, and Luca Natalini is on board as executive chef; he's currently the
