Pearl will be The Beaumont's new restaurant taking over Mayfair's Brown Hart Gardens

Pearl is opening in Brown Hart Gardens in Mayfair

For over a year now, there have been rumblings that Mayfair hotel, The Beaumont, was gearing up to open a second restaurant. That would add to their existing offering, Rosi, by the hotel's Culinary Director Lisa Goodwin-Allen.

Now we can reveal that plans for Pearl are fully underway, with the restaurant taking over the elevated section of Brown Hart Gardens in front of the hotel. On the food front, it might not surprise you to learn that the menu here is going to be Mediterranean-led, like so many new openings in London right now. But we have to say that the vision for the restaurant and its gardens does sound like it'll bring something completely new to this part of town.

The all-day restaurant will have a huge outside terrace, joining a new-look garden that was designed by the late horticulturalist Nigel Dunnett, who's best known for his Superbloom project in the Tower of London moat for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

It'll be great to see the gardens once more reopened to the public, with a lovely new restaurant and bar to boot.
