  Have you missed that whole wandering past an Ottolenghi, being tempted by the cake displays in the window, and then popping in to order as much as you could carry thing? Well, that chance is coming back with the news that two of the stores are getting ready to reopen. 

  It all starts with Notting Hill today, with Islington to follow on Friday. They're starting slowly - first with a reduced "essentials"

• Honest Burgers are open for delivery again across London

  

  The latest to come back all guns blazing after lockdown is Honest Burgers. If you've been missing their rosemary fries, then you'll be very pleased to know that they're slowly reopening all their restaurants across the country (delivery only, of course).

• The Connaught is serving up black truffle pizzas to go

  

  During lockdown, the Maybourne Hotel group - The Berkeley, The Connaught and Claridge's - have been busy supporting London's key workers with drive-through coffee stations and accommodation. But their bars and restaurants have been closed off to the rest of us.

  The Adam Handling restaurants may be closed, but the chef has just launched his new "at home" service called "Hame" in case you're suffering from chicken butter withdrawal symptoms (we love his chicken butter - you can see it above).

• Gunpowder Spitalfields are starting a delivery service with some of their greatest hits

  

  They've been closed since Lockdown but the much-loved Gunpowder is making a return to Spitalfields for a new delivery and collection service. They've reformatted some of their best dishes for delivery, including the Karawari soft shell crab and their lamb chops are being repurposed into a curry.   Over the past few weeks, we've seen the return of restaurants to London (albeit in collection or delivery form) turn from a slow trickle into something of a torrent. And as restaurants have worked out what they're able to do - a couple of distinct camps are appearing. Either they try to deliver as close to the restaurant experience as possible - or they pivot to something else during the lockdown.

• Jolene returns to Newington Green and is launching Jo to Go set meals

  

  Next up on the comeback trail is Newington Green's Jolene (sister restaurant to Primeur and Westerns Laundry).   We're writing more and more about restaurants that are slowly reopening after the initial pandemic shutdown and the latest to join them are burger merchants MEATliquor. 

• Homeslice are back, serving up pizza for delivery from Marylebone and Shoreditch

  The next restaurant to return from lockdown is Homeslice pizza - starting with Marylebone and following up with Shoreditch. They're open for both delivery and collection, setting up shop on Supper and Deliveroo.

• Yes, it's true. McDonald's is finally reopening...

  It's the news that a lot of folk have been waiting for. McDonald's today confirmed that it will be reopening its first UK restaurants within the next two weeks.

• Clipstone has reopened, preparing meals for Fitzrovia (and delivery too)

  

  The Woodhead Group are already having big success with the Quality Chop House delivery service (even though we're experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms from going so long without one of their pork pies). Now the same group have reopened another restaurant - Clipstone in Fitzrovia.

• Gymkhana is reopening for delivery (alongside Hoppers, Trishna and Brigadiers)

   

  Returning triumphantly in February after recovering from a major fire, the revamped Gymkhana was open for just over a month before being closed again due to the lockdown. But no more - one of the best Indian restaurants in town is gearing up for another reopening.

• Little Duck Home Kitchen is the home version of The Picklery in Dalston
