  • Beefbar has a new London home, taking over Dear Jackie at Broadwick Soho

Change is coming to Broadwick Soho as Monte Carlo's Beefbar has chosen the hotel as its new London home.

Beefbar has been in London before, of course, having opened as Le Petit Beefbar in Chelsea. That closed in April this year, but they said at the time that they were looking for a new home, and they've found it in Soho.

The restaurant, which originated in Monaco (and has outposts across the world), will be taking over both the ground floor bar and the lower-ground restaurant. Previously known as Dear Jackie (and Bar Jackie), it was originally named after the

  • Trying out the Indulgent Churrasco Experience at Fogo de Chão Bishopsgate

fogo de chao bishopsgate restaurant review

It's all change (as far as the name goes) for Fogo de Chão, which used to be Fazenda. What hasn't changed is the fantastic parade of Brazilian grilled meats and seafood dishes.

  • New Mayfair steakhouse Cordelia's has taken over the old Robuchon space

Mayfair isn't short of places to empty your wallet on a spendy steak, so it'll be interesting to see what new restaurant Cordelia's Mayfair brings to the table. The steakhouse has taken over the old L'atelier Robuchon restaurant site on Clarges Street, where they say they're bringing the theatre of live fire cooking to W1.

Carnivores will be well served by a menu that focuses on British cuts, all of which will have been aged in-house. But should you wish to wander the globe for your steak supper, they'll also serve up Galician beef and Finnish Sashi as well as (and this is a new

  • Wagyu Yakiniku USHIO is bringing late-night wagyu omakase to Charlotte Street

A new wagyu-led restaurant that originates in Fukuoka, Japan, is getting ready to bring late-night wagyu steaks to Fitzrovia.

Wagyu Yakiniku USHIO is taking over the site that used to be Palms of Goa, which itself closed last year, after over 30 years on Charlotte Street. It's based on Fukuoka restaurant USHIO Haruyoshi Bettei, and the head chef from the original restaurant is coming over to launch the London outpost.

Open only for dinner, everything here is led by lean cuts of Japanese Akami Wagyu, which is a little less marbled than you might expect wagyu to

  • Hawksmoor are rolling back prices by 20 years to celebrate their anniversary

We've had quite a few restaurants celebrating birthdays recently, and this is definitely a big one. It's been 20 years since Hawksmoor opened their first restaurant in Spitalfields. Since then, they've opened seven more restaurants in London, and more across the UK and the world.

Whenever they open a new restaurant, the soft launches always sell out in seconds, but tomorrow there's another chance to get a great deal. They're opening bookings for a one-day sale when their classics menu will be rolling back the years and available for £45 instead of £75. That menu includes classics

  • Test Driving Fitzgerald's, a City grill room that's a winning mix of Irish and American influences

    fitzgerald's restaurant review broadgate london

The City has a very comfortable new steakhouse and grill to try in Fitzgerald's - and there's a handy Irish American bar right next door.

  • London's best steak restaurants

    Hawksmoor

From steak powerhouses like Hawksmoor and Goodman to more affordable spots like Flat Iron, there's a huge choice of steakhouses in London. So we've picked some of the restaurants that we think are serving up some of the best steak in town.

  • Flat Iron's next affordable steakhouse is on Clapham Common

Flat Iron are on the expansion trail again, this time getting ready to open in Clapham, taking on a newly redeveloped site just beside the common.

If you've been to a Flat Iron before, you should know what to expect from the new opening. It'll stick to the usual format of a menu that's centred around their main flat iron cut of steak, which is currently £15 on the menu (still a great deal as far as steakhousess go), That's backed up by a few other cuts, some blackboard specials and their green chilli cheeseburger.

This particular location will have a terrace too, but

  • The Horsemen and Fitzgerald's is an Irish-American (and horse) inspired pub/restaurant

Things have been busy around Broadgate of late. Recently, there has been the launch of a new Vagabond wine bar and the arrival of US import Velvet Taco and now there's a new American-Irish "pub and clubhouse" arriving. And, let's face it, Irish pubs are certainly doing rather well in London at the moment.

Originally planned as The Horsemen, it's now going to be The Horsemen and Fitzgerald's, both with a bit of a horsey theme.

First off, and at the front of the venue, is The Horsemen. That's a "traditional Irish Freehouse", and yes, there will be Guinness alongside a big

  • Flat Iron Piccadilly is opening right next door to The Devonshire

6/3/26 - updated with the opening date

In what can only be described as a bold move, the latest Flat Iron steak restaurant is opening in Soho, right next door to its founder's new place, The Devonshire. Flat Iron Piccadilly will throw open the doors to its latest restaurant next year, putting it right beside one of London's most famous pub restaurants, which is as well known for its steak as the pub below is for its Guinness.

Charlie Carroll was the man behind the Flat Iron steak group, founding it back in 2012 before handing over the reins in 2021 and later

  • MRBL in Leadenhall Market is a new British steakhouse for the City

The City is about to get a new steakhouse, albeit with a name that's probably going to cause more than a little confusion when you try to tell friends about it. Opening in Leadenhall Market is MRBL, a restaurant that has dispensed with vowels.

Billed as a modern British steakhouse, it's set across two floors (and an outdoor terrace) with Executive Chef Matt Colk in charge (previously Aviary and The Gun) and comes from a team that previously launched Boom Bab Burger (also in Leadenhall Market).

The menu is obviously going to revolve around the steaks, with

  • From Michelin stars to steak (and three martini lunches), Cooper's Cut is the new Four Seasons steakhouse

6/2/25 - updated with more details about the opening, and an opening date

Is it a sign of the times that luxury hotel Four Seasons Hotel London At Tower Bridge has decided to replace its two Michelin-starred restaurant by top chef Anne-Sophie Pic with a steakhouse? Whatever the reasoning behind the decision, Cooper's Cut will be the hotel's newest dining offering, opening this spring.

Four Seasons are billing it as a contemporary steakhouse that they hope will "bring a bold energy to The City's dining scene." To that end they have brought in an Executive Chef with
