We've had plenty of wine flights and cocktail flights in London over the years, but this one is new to us. Hawksmoor have just launched a steak flight.
And that's just what it sounds like - rather than choosing just what steak you want as your main course, why not have four steaks? So when it's time for your main course, you'll be served a Hawksmoor Farms rump, a Longhorn Rib-Eye, Aberdeen Angus fillet and a Wildfell Wagyu Sirloin. All of those are available on the menu separately, but why not have all of them in one go? And this is particularly useful if you always have a regular order (we tend to over-order ribeye) but want to try something else without giving up your favourite.
This obviously comes at a price - £200 for all the steak - so it's really intended for a group (they suggest 4-5 people, or maybe one exceptionally hungry person). They're also launching their new Malbec alongside the flight, but we'd like the next step to be pairing a red wine with every steak. Yes, that might make the table a little busy, but we think it'd be worth it...
