Emily Roux is the latest member of the Roux family with a successful restaurant. She joined up with her husband, Diego Ferrari - former Head Chef at Le Gavroche - to run this restaurant that's part French, part Italian. The menu has a fine dining feel, but presented in a more laid-back setting, with courses split into sections like "curious", "robust" and "greedy" (which, yes, is the dessert section).

Six Portland Road comes from Oli Barker (who used to head up Terroirs alongside Ed Wilson). It's a small 40 seater restaurant with an ever-changing European-influenced menu, always with five choices for starters, main and dessert. The wine list is well worth a look, with a focused list of around 50 and primarily small growers.

Soho House's Notting Hill outfit consists of an Electric House members club, a fancy Electric Cinema (London’s oldest cinema) and the Electric Diner. The Diner's all day menu features steaks, sandwiches, all-day breakfasts and plenty of comfort food. It does what is does very well and remains a big hit with locals.

This was the first restaurant to be opened by The Gladwin brothers, who are each a farmer, a chef and a restaurateur. Serving up British food, much of it from their own family farm, it's all about locally grown, sustainable produce.

A longstanding local success, for seasonal British food done brilliantly you can't go wrong with Hereford Road, where former head chef of St. John Bread and Wine, Tom Pemberton, is in charge of the kitchen. The set lunch deal here is also one of the best in town.

Carmel sees the team behind Berber & Q head west to Queen's Park for a more traditional restaurant from what they've opened before. Expext the same great approach to Middle-Eastern cuisine and make sure to try the flatbreads.

The Cheese Bar team could simply have settled for serving cheese platters on a boat and Londoners would have lapped it up, but they've done so much more with this floating restaurant. The vessel itself - purpose-built- gives nearly everyone a water level view. As for the food, it really is all about cheese in many, many different forms - and that's a very good thing.

This sees Bjorn Van Der Horst (Eastside Inn) and Omar Romero (Rhodes Twenty Four, Rosewood) taking over the dining room on the 23rd floor of the Hilton Metropole. Expect a modernist Japanese pub with food to match. Plus Kirin beer K-slurpys and clay barrel aged cocktails served on airline trolleys.

This is a combined Danish restaurant and deli in Notting Hill. Expect a very Danish all-day menu in very Danish surroundings.
16 All Saints Road, London W11 1HH
This Notting Hill restaurant is run by chef/patron Rabah Ourrad, an Algerian rapper in Paris who used his time there to hone his culinary skills. He worked at Sketch, the Ledbury and Momo before starting Wormwood with his brother Akli. The menu here "spans the Mediterranean, but stands alone in its conformist refusal" so expect mezze/tapas with a French cooking flair.

This old favourite is now under the ownership of Ossie Gray, who used to be the General Manager of River Cafe. They're "cooking the food we love based on our experience of regional French & Italian with some other Mediterranean influences as well."

This is the restaurant housed in the Serpentine Sackler Gallery. Housed under the fancy new part attached to the grade II listed building, this has German chef Oliver Lange in charge who aims to mix Japanese food with European.
