It's been a week of big coffee wins for the City of London with the arrival of one much-vaunted opening, and the reveal that there's another interesting place on the way.
First up is the opening of WatchHouse Millennium Bridge. If you know this group, you'll know that the aesthetics are second to none. Their brand new riverside coffee spot has been designed by CAKE, who were also responsible for various Krickets and A Bar with Shapes for a Name. Sadly, it doesn't actually have riverside views, but as it's practically on the bridge, there's no reason why you can't grab a cup of their speciality coffee and go for a walk along the river yourself.
Then we have the news that AllPress is planning its first move out of East London and into the City. They're going to be opening a cafe in the heart of Farringdon in a few months' time. They've taken over the Authentic German Doner kebab house (which honestly seems like a bonus move for locals). Their latest opening will be primarily a grab-and-go espresso bar, but they will also have a variety of pastries and cakes on offer too.
