If you've been watching the Being Gordon Ramsay documentary on Netflix, you'll know that one of the key storylines has revolved around the chef's multiple openings in the 22 Bishopsgate skyscraper in the City. In the opening episode (spoiler), you see his dismay to hear that of the various restaurants planned, Bread Street Kitchen on the 59th floor, is going to be delayed by months. Given that the rest of the operation opened back in February last year, the opening ended up being delayed a full 15 months in total.
Clearly, the team behind it must be feeling bullish as they've just opened up bookings with an official opening date of 6 May. Bread Street Kitchen & Bar is an all-day affair, so if you fancy a business breakfast at 6.30 in the morning, this will be the place to come. And, as it's on the 59th floor, it'll be the second-highest restaurant in London when it opens.
There's also space here for a separate sports bar, which will have a 24-hour licence, making it a direct competitor to the nearby Duck & Waffle.
Given that the six-part series on Netflix has essentially been one long promo video for this, expect the place to be booked solid when it opens.
