Two pop-up dining events on Broadway Market

tavaloneBroadway Market looks to be the place to go for interesting pop-up food events over the summer.

First up is Tavolone Tapas - they'll be taking over the market's bike shop Lock7 on Friday 29 June 2012 for an evening of tapas. It's £15 to book (there's only 40 spaces) and for that you get a choice of three of their tapas plates - so that could be anything from Iberian spinach tortilla to chorizo with bread or padron peppers. As you can see from the picture - they lay on a pretty good table.

The following day (Saturday 30 June) Tavolone will be moving outside with a pop-up in the shop's garden overlooking the lock. You don't need to book for that and they'll be offering Aperol Spritz, wine and beer, chorizo burgers and grilled veggie burgers. Find out more on their website.

Next month, once more back at Broadway market, there's a pop-up dining event from Fat Cheeks pop up dining restaurant. This dinner's particularly noteworthy as they have guest chef Richard Kirkwood (ex head chef of J Sheekey’s and now at The Bell in Ticehurst) in the kitchen.

Fat Cheeks will be taking over F Cooke's pie and mash shop at 9 Broadway Market, London, E9 4PH for a Sunday feast on 8 July 2012. You can book for 12pm, 2pm 4pm & 6pm. The cost is £27 which includes two courses mains/dessert and a complimentary drink. Kirkwood's menu includes hanger steak with yorkshire pudding, a brawn burger with roasted onions and apple sauce, wild mushroom roast or a fillet or sea bass on garlic spinach with samphire and shrimp butter sauce. Dessserts are a strawberry fool or dark chocolate mousse. Book here.
