Host Coffee are bringing sustainable but fun coffee to Covent Garden's Henrietta Street

hostcoffeelogo

What: Host Coffee

In a nutshell: Fuss-free coffee

Summing it all up: Covent Garden gets a new coffee shop from a duo that started their business as an Old Street pop-up

The low-down

Henrietta Street is becoming quite the foodie hub in Covent Garden. Hard on the heels of the Henrietta hotel and The Oystermen opening comes Host Coffee (which is opening right beside The Oystermen).

The cafe is the brainchild of two schoolfriends Max Thomas and Michael Bird who've been honing their barrista skills running a popup at Old Street station's Magic Roundabout this year. They're aiming to pitch themselves between a chain coffee store and an artisan place.

Their intention is to serve top quality coffee but with the least amount of waste. To that end their coffee will be served up in the greenest possible cups - nearly all the disposables they'll be using will be 100% bio-degradable. The coffee itself will be coming from Alchemy Coffee Roasters in South Wimbledon.

On the food front, bread and pastries will be supplied by Flourish Bakery up in Watford.
