Urban Noodle is taking the place of Prawn on the Lawn in Islington

A few weeks back, we found out that one of our local restaurants, Prawn on the Lawn, was closing after 13 years in London (and nine years in that particular location). The last time that site was vacated (when chicken restaurant LeCoq closed), it took four months before we knew what would be taking its place. But things have been moving much quicker this time around.

Apparently, according to estate agent Davis Coffer Lyons, it's about to become a new noodle bar, something which we don't really have down this side of Islington. Urban Noodle is coming from husband and wife team Fengying Ran (who runs Mi Canteen in Chinatown) and Qinggguo Zheng. There, they specialise in Chongqing supreme flat noodles in spicy hotpots. Just what they have planned for Islington is still up in the air, though.

So it's early days on this one - but we'll bring you more news on the menu when we can.
