Together they run one of the UK's best seafood restaurants. The only trouble for Londoners is that you have to travel all the way to Devon usually to try their food. But this summer Mitch and Ben Tonks from The Seahorse in Dartmouth are running a three-month residency in Mayfair. The father and son duo's residency is at The Donovan Bar at Brown's Hotel in the heart of town, aimed at bringing their amazing seafood to central London.
"It's a real honour to bring favoured dishes from The Seahorse to the Donovan Bar," says Mitch, "inspired by my travels around the Mediterranean and the coast of northern Spain."
The bar's menu will feature a range of dishes, paired with cocktails created by the bar's team, run by Salvatore Calabrese and Federico Pavan. To give you an idea, dishes and drinks include:
- Line Caught sea bass crudo with calamanzi, ginger & pink pepper - paired with the Bellini Colada made with peach, Prosecco, vodka and frozen cucumber./p>
- Spider Crab, Radish, Lemon & Celery - paired with the Highball 24
- Scampi con Saor - paired with the Dolce Negroni
With all the seafood being supplied either from Brixham Fish Market or day boats, this is going to be a great way to support sustainable fishing while also enjoying a cracking evening out in town.
