They nabbed second place at this year's UK's Best Pizza Awards and now Rudy's Pizza Napoletana are gearing up to open their first neighbourhood restaurant in London. The Neapolitan pizzeria is taking over the old The Diary space right beside Clapham Common, making this their first foray outside central London (they already have restaurants in Soho, Shoreditch, Tottenham Court Road, Spitalfields, Queensway and Westfield).
If you haven't been to one before, their pizzas are made using a 24-hour proving process, with Caputo 00 flour, Fior de Latte mozzarella and the best tomatoes grown on Mount Vesuvius. On the menu, you'll find all the usuals and monthly rotating specials, along with always-on options including:
- Cinghiale - Wild boar salame, 'nduja, roquito peppers, fresh chilli
- Triple Pepperoni - Napoli, British + Calabrian pepperoni, stracciatella (burrata heart), chilli honey
- 'Nduja Ortolana - Vegan 'nduja, roasted tenderstem broccoli, Kalamata olives, chestnut mushrooms and rocket pesto
As for drinks, think all-Italian, so spritzes, their own Orancello along with Negronis and Italian lagers.
