Bancone's next is on Oxford Street, opening in the old Debenhams building

Bancone have only just opened a restaurant in Bloomsbury, but they already have their next one lined up, and this one is in a much more prominent location.

The seventh Bancone will be the first restaurant (that we know about so far) to open in the old Debenhams location, now known as The M Building. That's turning into a mixed-use building - offices, more retail spaces etc - with Bancone on the ground floor. And given that Oxford Street has just been pedestrianised (a stretch which does include this building), it's certainly a good time to open. It'll make a nice change from the American candy and vape shops that had become a recent blight on the street.

As for the restaurant itself, we don't know just how much of the building it's taking up. We do know that you can expect the same menu of fresh pasta dishes that you'll find at the other locations, with the silk handkerchiefs with walnut butter and confit egg yolk being the signature. The Oxford Street restaurant is getting a new dish, though, Ravioles du Dauphiné with taleggio, pumpkin and soft herbs, which is the ravioli served as one big, uncut sheet.

So if you're checking out the newly pedestrianised street in the run-up to Christmas, this could be a handy refuelling stop.
