Hot new bar Waltz has just shimmied into Shoreditch

Tokyo-born mixologist Gento Torigata travelled across the globe working in bars from Ginza to Sydney and Singapore before landing in the UK. Most recently he was bar manager at the fabulous Kwãnt in Mayfair for the past two years. Now he's branching out on his own, opening up Waltz on Scrutton Street.

The bar and its drinks list takes inspiration from both jazz and nature. There's a general menu of drinks available along with a special cocktail list that's only served up to those at the 12-seat bar.

Drinks include a matcha Old Fashioned, Bitter Gimlet (made with Nikka Coffey gin), and a White Asparagus with Fresh peas made with Suntory Haku vodka. The food menu is just as eclectic, featuring everything from a Marmite pinwheel to Tieguanyin tea madeleine and house-pickled turnips.

If you're the kind of person (and we 100% are) who loves to be in at the start of a bar's journey to superstardom, this feels like a must-visit.
