What: Crudo
In a nutshell: Ceviche to go in Fitzrovia
Summing it all up: If raw food bowls are your thing, but you're after something a bit punchier - then this new South American and Latin American inspired grab and go joint will be right up your street.
The low-down
We've had a lot of poke places opening in London this year, but a new restaurant in Fitzrovia is hoping to push that raw food envelope out a little further.
Crudo, which is about to open on Riding House Street, will be London's first grab and go Cevicheria. It brings a bit of South American and Latin American together in Fitzrovia, being the brainchild of Venezuelan-born founders Carlos Soccoro and Maria Yanez but inspired by the period they lived in Miami - a city which apparently is crazy for the stuff.
Crudo will have three signature ceviche bowls to choose from - the key one, Clasico, will have quinoa base topped with seabass marinated in a classic leche de tigre sauce and topped with sweet potato, Andean chilli, Peruvian toasted corn and plantain chips.
If all that sounds nice but you'd rather choose exactly what you like, then opt for the DIY ceviche. Choose a base (rice, lettuce, quinoa) and then add your protein, your ‘leche de tigre’ sauce and what toppings you’d like.
