Lucky Islington residents are about to get a new coffee shop, wine bar and restaurant and an ice cream parlour, all in the space of a month or so. The three businesses by co-founders Alex Young and George de Vos are taking over the old Michael's Den pub on the borders of Islington and De Beauvoir.

You may have tried their pasta or burgers at one of their stalls across London - either at one of the Mercato Metropolitanos, dotted around Canary Wharf or at Camden Market and Crate Walthamstow. But now Dez Amore are going one step further, opening their first standalone restaurant.

They're heading South West to Fulham Road where they'll be opening up a few junctions down from popular newbie Josephine.

Until recently, the small No. 23 space next door to Carousel in Fitzrovia had been used for rotating residencies, most recently for Chuck NYC and Poons Wontoneria. Now that's about to change as it becomes a full-time bar, or more specifically a mezcaleria and tostada bar.

For the first time since it opened in 1987, The River Cafe is opening a new café - although it's not far at all from the original. In fact, it's right next door.

Humble Crumble is a dessert shop that serves exactly what you think - various pots of steamed fruit covered with crumble and done extremely well.
