Notting Hill residents will probably have spotted a new opening in their neighbourhood. Jackie's Counter has been soft launching for the last few weeks, finding its feet on Kensington Church Street. It's the latest venture for Andy and Nati Perritt, the couple behind local pub The Mall Tavern.

They're describing it as a "neighbourhood luncheonette", and right now it's open during the day, kicking off mornings with cold brew slushies and breakfast bagels moving onto Reubens, salt beef sandwiches and tuna melts later on. For the sweet-toothed among you, they're doing homemade pies,

We may not have as entrenched a burrito culture as you'd find in New York or LA, but the good news is there are still places to hit up in London if a breakfast burrito is the way you want to start your day.

It's all change over at the restaurant formerly known as Counter 71 in Shoreditch. The chef's table restaurant previously focused on an all-British menu. Now it's being turned into Appalachia, a restaurant inspired by the mountainous region of the US.

For the new restaurant, a new chef has been brought in - Alistair Borer (ex-Smoking Goat and Nutbourne). He's taking the American co-owners Camilla Meshiea and Ryan Sheenan's vision to the table. And really, the idea to turn the restaurant over to American influences does marry the whole space here together as the bar downstairs,

The team behind The Prince Arthur Belgravia, as well as Arthur's Market in Chelsea, are getting ready to open their next restaurant. This time around, they're going back to Belgravia and are teaming up with boutique hotel The Lowndes Hotel to launch Avi Bistrot. 

This will be a French/American brasserie, with a fair bit of showing from the caviar that was liberally used over at the Prince Arthur. At Avi, you'll find it on dishes like their New York fried chicken & caviar as well as caviar fish and chips. Elsewhere on the menu, you'll find the LA brioche noire lobster roll,

We can't be the only ones hearing American voices literally wherever we are in London. So it's clear there's already going to be a large expat audience for the new American deli opening up at King's Cross. But Tommy's Sandwiches are hoping that their loaded subs are also going to be the kind of sandwich that gets Londoners excited too.

For a while now clothing brand Kith and its treat store have been one of the best places to get soft serve in London. But the imminent opening of their flagship store on Regent Street is going to bring both a Treats bar and a standalone restaurant.

Ronnie's New York, named after Kith founder Ronnie Fieg, will have its own entrance. It looks like a gorgeously designed space - with a mix of booth and counter seating. The space has its own cocktail lounge where they'll be serving up drinks like a Rose Espresso Martini
