It's all change for chef Victor Garvey, who's about to make his move to West London complete. Having opened MATER1A there at the beginning of the year, he's now moving his other restaurant, the Michelin-starred SOLA there too. SO|LA has been in Soho since its launch back in 2019, but now it's going to be taking over the site next door to MATER1A.
The move also means a pruning of seats. It was also a small restaurant, but now it's more than halving in size with space for just 12 diners. But what they're lacking in space they're gaining in wine, as we're told that the list here will be almost double the size it was in Soho.
"I have loved every minute of being in Soho," said Victor, of the move. "We have spent the last 2 months building a beautiful chef’s counter restaurant where a maximum of 12 diners can eat at a time- this allows us to really stretch our culinary legs and push the boat out, creatively."
