What We Know:
This is the second restaurant from the Cloth team, and sees them taking over an iconic building, the one that used to be Simpson's Tavern. Downstairs, it's still a traditional pub (albeit with some excellent snacks and a great wine list). Upstairs, you'll find a restaurant that has an excellent British-influenced menu with a few nods back to its days as a chophouse. Either of the spaces is well worth seeking out.

The Albatross is the first pub from the group behind Goodman and Wild (and it's only a few doors down from Goodman City). It's a very big pub with a sizeable dining area, where the focus is on a seafood menu (you'll see huge king crabs in the tank here). There's plenty of space to drink here too, and the beer is very well priced for the area.

What We Know:
With two neighbourhood restaurants already under their belt, the team behind Good Fortune Club decided to head into the City for their newest opening. The setting here is gorgeous, with views out over the marina at St Katharine Docks. But you're here for the food and the dim sum menu is extensive. From xiao long bao to cheung fun everything is highly impressive and there's an energy here from the front of house staff that makes this an easy recommendation. Our best tip, come with friends and give the dumpling section a really good go.

It has spectacular views of London, particularly down onto Tower Bridge, and that's backed up by a Michelin-starred high-end (no pun intended) tasting menu.

Bars
From post-work watering holes to weekend destination bars, the City has plenty of places to choose from.
Sky Pod Bar - At the top of the Fenchurch Building (aka the ‘Walkie Talkie’), Sky Pod Bar is an all-day drinking and dining space with dramatic views across London. It’s also where you can enjoy a cocktail amid the highest public gardens in Europe. There are DJs and live music at night, and tables should definitely be booked in advance.
El Vino Fleet Street - Open since 1879 (formerly known as Bower & Co), El Vino Fleet Street has evolved into the place to come for tapas and a really well-considered wine list, given its associations with boutique and lesser-known wineries in Australia, New Zealand, Chile and South Africa.
Winemakers Farringdon - These bare-brick vaults under the Holborn Viaduct house a wine shop, a candlelit bar and event space for both discerning drinkers and those with a nose for adventurous and niche wines, especially from smaller producers who specialise in organic and biodiverse drops.
The Ned bars - As well as multiple restaurants, The Ned is a great place for a drink with The Library bar on the ground floor and The Guinness Bar in the basement still popping up at the time of writing.
