Normally Chisou’s two restaurants would be all about the counter dining experience - they also pride themselves on their sake selections. To that end, their mixed sushi and sashimi platter with sake pairing is a great option on delivery.

This Mayfair restaurant specialises in omakase, but they also do a nice line in lunchtime collection boxes. Their lunch sushi and sashimi set also Includes miso soup and salad and is a perfect alternative to yet another lacklustre packed lunch.

Feng Sushi Feng Sushi

Where: Notting Hill, Fulham, West Hampstead, Camberwell, Selfridges Food Hall

In normal times, you can even learn how to make your own hand rolls with Feng Sushi’s classes - but for delivery, you’re in the hands of their chefs who turn out well-priced sushi. They offer regularly changing specials - like nori tacos or a seaweed tiger roll - alongside more recognisable options.

Hot Stone, IslingtonHot Stone

Where: Islington and Fitzrovia

Formerly head sushi chef at Tsukiji in Mayfair, chef Padam Raj Rai’s sushi spot in Islington was something of a hidden gem. They are about to open a second restaurant in Fitzrovia. Sushi platters are exquisite and a bit different - think fatty tuna with caviar rolls and Seared butterfish with truffle spicy ponzu. Read our Test Drive.

The mothership where so many other of London's sushi chefs trained is sending out sushi via Supper. In addition to the ubiquitous black cod miso, they do seasonal omakase boxes too. If food TIkTok has given you a hankering for their crispy rice with spicy tuna - here's where you come for the real thing.

The Battersea branch of this Cheltenham restaurant opened in the summer. Alongside hot dishes like gyoza and ramen, their sushi options are pretty eclectic - think kimchi seafood rolls, ebi yukari Californian rolls and their very popular volcano roll.

Chef patron Daisuke Hayashi, also supervises Japan Airlines's in-flight meals. While he waits to open his first London restaurant, he’s started out with delivery, ranging from donburi and chirashi to the most exquisite looking Hiinatsuki Gozen bento boxes.

Where: 157 Westbourne Grove, London W11 2RS

This is sushi master Endo Kazutoshi’s new Notting Hill spot (he also runs the Michelin-starred Endo at Rotunda). It opened during lockdown and, as you might expect, is doing superlative sushi delivery. It’s a tight menu - just three boxes, including a premium sashimi selection.

Where: Fitzrovia, Shoreditch and St John’s Wood

Outside of lockdown this teeny Clerkenwell sushi restaurant is one of the best in town and, consequently, the hardest to get a seat at. During lockdown it’s been more egalitarian. There’s just one option - a dining set with Omakase - which gives you a range of sashimi, sushi rice and more for you to make up as you’d like.

This contemporary Japanese restaurant prides itself on innovative dishes that use the best British ingredients. Pair your sushi order with one of their amazing wagyu sandos.

Yashin Sushi and Yashin OceanYashin Sushi and Yashin Ocean

Where: Kensington

Founded by ex-Nobu and Yumi head chefs Yasuhiro Mineno and Shinya Ikeda, both the Yashin restaurants pride themselves on doing sushi with a bit more modernity and theatre than you might find elsewhere. For their delivery menu, you’ll find dishes like yellowtail carpaccio with orange soy and chilli oil alongside otoro tuna sets and sake paired omakase offerings.
