Stoke Park sets its cap at London's foodies bringing in chef Tom Sellers to run its restaurants and bars

It's the hotel where Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant enjoyed a mini break in Bridget Jones's Diary, and the place where James Bond and Goldfinger had it out on the golf course. But now Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire is getting one hell of a makeover with a slew of new restaurants opening there, ahead of the hotel's relaunch.

Fresh from unveiling his Mor restaurant down at the luxury Carbis Bay Estate hotel in Cornwall, chef Tom Sellers is behind the five dining and drinking spaces here. There's a main restaurant, The Penn, which sounds very much like the Michelin-targeted option with dishes like spiced pig’s head with Scottish langoustine and and venison Wellington Rossini on the menu.

On a more casual note, The Terrace & Glasshouse will serve up sourdough flatbreads and pasta, with pizzas and barbecue served out on the terrace. There's also the Tea Room for afternoon tea and a piano bar that's going big on American wines and martinis. And the golf clubhouse will be somewhere for pub food and Indian dishes (which reflects the hotel's ownership by Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani.

It all sounds really interesting, and to give you an idea of the money and talent involved, they've got the former Head Gardener of Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Kate Mannery running the kitchen garden and the restaurant designer Shayne Brady (Simpson's, Mor) behind the redesign.

The restaurants, bar and clubhouse are all expected to open first, with the hotel following after. And, as it's only a 15-minute train ride from London, expect this to be the mini break of choice for London's foodies when it all reopens.
