One of the best paths towards opening a new restaurant is earning a name through residencies, with a recent great example being Hon's BBQ in Hackney Wick. Now, another former residency is making the jump as Doctor Dough Pizza gets ready to open in Chiswick.
Originally opening as a stall in Hammersmith and since as a residency in Brentford, Sonay Ali (Doctor Dough himself) is opening on Devonshire Road. There, he'll be serving the pizza he's been developing for years. Ali has been living with Crohn's disease, so he's specifically created pizzas that are designed to have a lighter, more digestible dough, while also taking inspiration from New York pizzas.
On the new menu, you'll find pizzas like their New York marg, a classic pepperoni, and all-white pizzas and a tomato pie. On the specials front, there's a vodka pie (vodka cream sauce, mozzarella, pecorino, Grana Padano, black pepper, basil) and a New Haven (cheese blend, house sauce, oregano, pecorino and garlic oil), as well as rotating Chef's Specials and a seasonal pie.
We've heard good things about Doctor Dough and the chef even recently helped out with the launch of Vincenzo's in Shoreditch. So if you're in or around Chiswick, this is one pizzeria you'll want to check out.
