There is a very exciting restaurant getting ready to open in East London, and we've secured Hot Dinners readers a seat at the table, and a 50% discount on their bill.
Rooted in Iranian culture, Pardeh brings together food shaped by travel, generous sharing plates and vinyl music. It's also going to be quite a different restaurant experience to the norm, throwing the rule book on how to dine out of the window.
The restaurant is founded by Sahar Gilabadi with Yma Apa (ex-The Drunken Butler) as Creative Director and Executive Chef. Persian food is Yma’s foundation. French technique informs the sauces and cooking, while his journeys around the world bring Japanese, Korean and wider Asian flavours into the kitchen. The menu leaves room for both familiar dishes and new interpretations, with food built to share.
Dishes on the development menu include scallop with chicken sauce and caviar, aged turbot, and sesame ice cream with fish sauce caramel and lime. Their plans for long Sunday lunches sound good too.
The wine programme sees Yma building on his relationship with Newcomer Wines, Passione Vino and Les Caves de Pyrène. Expect to find bottles by trusted growers alongside new discoveries, from accessible bottles to rarer wines. Cocktails sound on point too with the house cocktail, the brilliantly named Yma Thurman featuring mezcal, Punt e Mes, coffee liqueur and chocolate bitters.
As for the room, there's a central communal table seating up to 14 if you enjoy meeting new people, with separate tables for two to four guests around it. There's also a standing Kitchen Pardeh table for eight to 12 people, bringing guests into the heart of the kitchen around a chef as they might gather around the stove at home.
Pardeh is at Unit 1, Empress Works, 45 The Oval, London E2 9DT. Follow them on Instagram @pardehlondon
