If you're as terminally online as we are, you might have recalled a TikTok earlier this year in which an American expat was bemoaning the lack of good chopped chicken Caesar wraps in London. That got a quarter of a million views, which in turn prompted hospitality folk Mairi and Marius of about-to-launch CZER to think maybe there's a business idea in that.
As Mairi explained to Hot Dinners, "We first started building the concept for CZER in January after I had a craving for one of these wraps so badly, but they just didn’t seem to exist here." But it was the TikTok that pushed them into action. And they're now about to launch CZER in Mayfair this week. "I think people will be very surprised by where we’re located." Hot Dinners was told where the location is going to be but we've been sworn to secrecy. So you'll need to follow them on TikTok to find out on the opening day.
As for the wraps themselves, Marius and Mairi (who has created events for everyone from Eminem to Snoop Dogg) have come up with their own take on the NYC favourite. They'll focus on offering just two wraps - a classic and a picante CZER. And you'll be able to customise them by having a packet of your favourite flavour crisps chopped into them.
The drinks offering is similarly tight - you'll get a cup of crushed ice for what they're dubbing "London’s crispiest Diet Coke" - and your choice of either Diet Coke or Coke Zero.
