Jeremy King unveils Romano's, the final piece of the Simpson's puzzle

Having just had a very successful launch of The Grand Divan at Simpson's (with an early five-star review no less), Jeremy King is getting ready to put the cap on one of London's biggest openings in years.

Romano's is the second main restaurant inside Simpson's and you'll find it up on the first floor. Known as The West Room under the previous owners, it's been given its own identity by King as a new British restaurant. The prices here are also a little more affordable than The Grand Divan, so, looking for good comparisons, we'd pitch this as King's new version of Zedel vs The Grand Divan being his new version of The Wolseley downstairs.

There's also one big difference between this and the restaurant downstairs - Romano's is surrounded by windows, giving the room a much brighter look. As for the food, it's a British menu, and they will also have a roast beef main on the menu, but only on Sunday (at a pretty reasonable £29.75). Other dishes include a Scotch Egg with Coronation Mayonnaise and a special pie (or pudding) of the day. Those include their own fish pie as well as a beef shin, snail & garlic pie. The set menu here (three courses for £24.75) is also a steal and we like the sound of whatever "Le Chariot De Pâtisserie" is.

The beautiful-looking Simpson's Bar is right beside Romano's so you should probably grab a martini there on any visit. Ultimately, we can see King making this a big hit.
