Michelin-starred Kol is partnering with the Tate Modern for a bargain Frida Kahlo menu

The upcoming Frida: The Making of an Icon exhibition at the Tate Modern is bound to be a success, and tickets are already selling like hot cakes. But the gallery has also done a very interesting restaurant deal that's going to make it a major draw for London's foodies this summer.

They've teamed up with chef Santiago Lastra, founder of the second highest UK restaurant on the World's 50 Best List, Kol. He's come up with a specific menu that's going to be served at the gallery for the duration of the exhibition. Lastra, who comes from the same city as Kahlo, says that connection "makes this collaboration especially meaningful to me in London. The menu is my way of honouring her legacy, translating the emotions, colours and stories found in her work onto the plate."

The best thing is that while the tasting menu at Kol is now £145, you can get tickets to the exhibition and a two course lunch for just £66 which is a comparative bargain. Apparently you can also book the meal without visiting the exhibition, but we couldn't find a way to do that on the website. That may be coming later.

The menu will be released in April, but if you fancy trying Santiago's food and getting a bit of culture to boot, we'd suggest getting tickets sooner rather than later.
