The upcoming Frida: The Making of an Icon exhibition at the Tate Modern is bound to be a success, and tickets are already selling like hot cakes. But the gallery has also done a very interesting restaurant deal that's going to make it a major draw for London's foodies this summer.

They've teamed up with chef Santiago Lastra, founder of the second highest UK restaurant on the World's 50 Best List, Kol. He's come up with a specific menu that's going to be served at the gallery for the duration of the exhibition. Lastra, who comes from the same city as Kahlo, says that connection

The team who launched the much-loved (and missed) Brixton Village Grill and also Chip Shop are headed towards the river for their next opening. Restaurateurs Michael Lythgoe and Cidalia Rodrigues are hoping to bring Brixton vibes to Bankside with their restaurant and late-night bar BRIX. And they're teaming up with DJ and producer Troyboi to make sure it has the right warehouse vibes.

New restaurant and bar Boiler & Co is heading to Bankside and has a very interesting chef heading up the menu - Kerth Gumbs. Last seen at Ormer Mayfair, he also made a big splash in the final of Great British menu last year. 

Here, he'll have a menu of small plates that will have references to his home of Anguilla with dishes

Starting in July, Tate Modern's latest exhibition is Olafur Eliasson: In real life - from the artist who brought us The Weather Project in the Tate's Turbine Hall (that was the one with the big sun suspended in the middle). But he's not just bringing over an exhibition, he's bringing a restaurant too.

Following on from the hugely popular Exmouth Market and Kings Cross venues, Caravan has opened a third restaurant, south of the river. We check it out. 

Already hugely popular in Exmouth Market and King's Cross, Caravan are making the leap across the river and are coming to Bankside this Autumn (that's just down the road from Hixter). 

UIt'll be an all-day restaurant and, like the other restaurants, breakfast and brunch will play a big part of that. On that menu will be: 

• Baked eggs with tomato pepper ragout, Greek yoghurt & Aleppo chilli
• Jalapeno corn bread
