Fulham folk who love a bit of Korean fried chicken will probably have already taken note of the arrival of Kokodoo on their high street just over a week ago. After years in the business, first as a street food stall, and then with a series of franchises across town, head chef and founder Mary Yoon has picked South West London to be her first owner-run restaurant. Yoon trained up at Le Cordon Bleu before deciding to concentrate on Korean comfort food.
The flagship Fulham location will serve up all the basics that have won them devoted fans across the capital. The chicken in question comes with five glazes, their signature gochujang, soy and garlic, fiery chilli, black sauce and smoky honey. There's also a kimchi chicken burger and chilli wings. Drinks are all soft (at the moment, anyway) with Hallabong orangeade on offer.
There is some space to eat in, and it looks like they also have some after-hours fun planned with Kokokoo Sessions, a series of live DJ acts.
