Oded Oren is opening a second deli, bringing hummus, babka and filled challah buns to Hampstead

He started with Oren in Dalston, added a deli on Broadway Market and now chef Oded Oren is working on another deli as Oren Delicatessen is getting ready to open in Hampstead.

It's going to follow the template of the original - a mix of a New York-style deli with North African and Mediterranean flavours. So you'll be able to pick up mezze like his highly rated hummus, baba ganoush and labneh alongside freshly baked pita. The store will also have freshly baked babka and challah buns with NYC-style fillings (including Tunisian tuna salad with celery, preserved lemon and tomato).

For weekends only, they'll be adding hot dishes to the mix, like beef short rib with Persian lime, so you can grab those alongside sweet dishes like challah bread and butter pudding or chocolate and hazelnut babka.

In addition to all of the above, there will be various provisions on the shelves, from artisan olive oil to Schmalz herring from Mr Deutsch in Stamford Hill.

We don't get many Hampstead new opening stories, so this should be worth checking out for locals.
