It's always been one of the handiest pubs in a London train station, and for the past few weeks, The Parcel Yard has been getting a revamp.
If you're not familiar with the pub, it's at the back of King's Cross station (just past the throngs queuing for a picture of themselves with the Harry Potter trolley). Until now, the inside has been kind of a (heavily designed) shabby chic, but that approach has now changed quite a bit. Now it's been given a touch of opulence - all velvet-covered armchairs and not shabby at all. The private rooms here (again very handy for anyone travelling from/to St Pancras) have also been given a big refurb.
So, if you haven't been for a while (and we haven't ourselves, frankly) the pub might be worth checking out again. It has to be a lot better than the Wetherspoons in next door St Pancras, surely?
