Vagabond are opening London's biggest urban winery and bar in Canary Wharf

If you live or work in Canary Wharf and have been wondering what's going to take over the space at the recently completed Dock Shed at Canada Water, then we're here to enlighten you. It's going to be an absolutely massive new wine bar and winery. The space has been taken up by Vagabond wine bars: if you haven't been to one before, they're the bars where all the wines are on an enomatic-style system and you get to pour your own glass.

At their new Canada Water home, there's going to be a bar with over 100 wines on tap and loads of events and private hire spaces too. But the real USP is going to be their winery, capable of making 100,000 bottles of wine a year. "This urban winery is unlike anything we’ve done before," explains their Managing Director, Christobell Giles. "It’s a cathedral to wine."

We have to admit we didn't even know that Vagabond made their own wines, but apparently they already make some very decent English wine. Their Solena recently won Best English Still Wine at the Independent Wine Awards. The new winery means they're going to be able to quadruple their wine output, to which we have to raise a glass to.
