There have been some very interesting developments in Stratford recently and the good news is that there are more on the way. The team behind Jikoni in Marylebone, Ravinder Bhogal and Nadeem Lalani Nanjuwany are taking on a new restaurant, this time one that is launching as part of the V&A East Museum.
What they have told us about Cafe Jikoni so far is: "We’re excited to be in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on East Bank, with a project that will speak to the depth and breadth of the culturally rich and diverse communities in East London. Beyond serving nourishing and delicious food, our intention is inclusivity, collaboration and connectivity. "
New dishes planned for the menu include Prawn Toast Scotch Egg,Turmeric and Ginger Chicken Pie and Lamb Merguez Flatbread with fennel, tahini and pickled chillies. There will also be a classic Bombay Sandwich with green chutney as well as Ravinder’s take on pies, sausage rolls, crumpets and cakes.
It all sounds like a great adidtion to Stratford.
